2011 Presidents Message:
At the Annual General meeting in Red Deer on February 16th, 2011 I had the honour to be elected president of the AEL. My name is Ron Stocks, an electrical instructor at Red Deer College. I am excited about the future, working with the board and following the lead of past presidents to take AEL to the next level.
I would first like to give a huge thank you to Art McCandless, past president, for his dedication and commitment to this organization. The membership of AEL grew under Art’s leadership. Well done. Thank you to the board members whose terms were up and reluctantly, due to personal or business reasons, were not able to continue on the board. Welcome aboard to the new members and thank you for volunteering your time and expertise.
The electrical industry is an immense and very diverse, which some might consider a weakness. I look at this as an opportunity to advance AEL by using that diversity and the vast and varied knowledge of the board and AEL members to assist not only the electrical industry, but through the use of our website, but assist the majority of all Albertans.
AEL membership has many advantages, a job posting board, discussion forums, advertising and the new AEL Club that has many discounts, just for being a member, to mention a few.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the Electrical Learning Expo in Red Deer March 24th, 2011.
